Hi, my name is Melanie Bremner McLaren. I created this site to help other moms be able to stay at home and still make money to help out around the house. I believe all moms should be able to have the ability to stay at home if they choose and not feel they have been robbed of their children’s special first moments while they were away at work.
I was a high school drop out who found myself working in a donut shop for long hours. I would come home and soak my feet, grab something to eat, kiss my kids good-night and drop into bed.
I hated my life. I needed a change. I went back to school and received a college diploma in Small Business Management. My mom and I opened up a computer cafe where my mother and I taught computer courses to seniors and other locals who wanted affordable lessons. We were in a bad location so after a year closed up shop.
We continued teaching classes in the local community centre nearby, and soon realized that we were pretty good teachers. I enjoyed learning new programs and software, then creating lesson plans for the students. My mother enjoyed the teaching part. We were a great team.
When things slowed down, we turned to doing more things online. I started doing ghostwriting for some internet marketers. The money was ok but the pride I was used to feeling was not there since I was not the “author” of the work I did.
Instead I decided to put together some ebooks, tutorials and mini reports for other new beginners to get started online.
Now, I enjoy the ability to do a little affiliate marketing, blogging, tutoring, and info product creating whenever I feel like it. I love my job, I love my life, and I want to share my insight and resources with other moms.
