Yesterday I discussed a vacation idea involving taking your children to an amusement park for some fun and adventure. Today, I thought I would talk about another vacation idea that I enjoyed when I was a child.
I grew up in a family of six children. My father was an elementary teacher and my mom stayed at home until my baby sister was in school. Then she became a librarian’s assistant. As anyone with a lot of children will know, six children can be pretty expensive.
While my dad knew the value of having family time with vacations so we could all get to know each other and have some fun, he needed to find something that did not cost very much.
We had an aunt and uncle who lived up North from us on a nice lake that had a great island for camping just about a ten minute boat ride across the bay. We started going there every summer when my four little brothers and sister were barely out of diapers. It was great fun and some of our most cherished memories.
One of the most important things to decide when trying to ensure that you keep your family safe, dry and warm while camping is the purchase of suitable Camping tents. You need to make sure they are easy enough to set up(the last thing you need with a ton of kids climbing all around is a hard set up), have enough room to accommodate everyone comfortably, are made from the right materials to both keep everyone warm, dry and free from bugs, and will still stay within your price range.
You want something that will last for all those many years of adventure you have planned. A camping tent should be an investment. And as with all investments you want to make an informed decision so you can make the best choice for your family.
While there are many Camping tents available on the market today, not all of them are made with the best materials, or backed by a trusted name brand. Take the time to find out what you need to know regarding these items before purchasing and you can be sure that you will make the best choice for your family. Now go and create some memories and have a blast!

When I was a teen, my family lived in a tent all summer. My younger brother loved it, I missed the city, and I often wonder how my mother managed all of those weeks.
Kids love camping and you are so right about having a good tent. I remember one season of a leaky tent and another with one that had a broken zipper – not great when the mosquitoes want to come in and sleep with you.
Carol, I think that sounds like fun! I am not sure I would be able to handle a whole summer with many children. It takes a special kind of mom I think to be able to spend that much time away from modern conveniences to create fond memories for their children.
Kids do love camping and as long as you have a good tent, a ton of games and activities to do, the proper swim equipment for safety, and lots to eat, this should work out to a great time!
my camping tent is a cheap, made in china stuff but this tent is also very durable-`:
camping tents with polyurethane fabric can withstand the water and snow much better than vinyl `~:
